Carolina GM Jim Rutherford is under the impression that Victor Rask will come over from Sweden and play in North America this season.  "Our understanding is he will play in North America and that he wants to," Rutherford said referring to the team's second-round choice in the 2011 draft. "It's very important to get him to a place where he plays a lot of minutes. We'd like to see him somewhere playing more than 20 minutes a game." He'll either be in the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL or with the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL. Rask could also make the NHL with the Hurricanes, but that would probably be a long shot.

It looks like the hurricanes may be willing to part with a "star player" for "a different positional star player" off of Vancouver's roster.
The canucks were talking to NJ, but for now it looks like Carolina is "much more of an active participant.

Sam McCaig from Puck Daddy has been publishing the top 25 players to watch next season, for every position. The Hurricanes did not place anyone in the top 25 on defense, left wing, or right wing and did not even get an honorable mention in any of those positions.
But Cam Ward placed number eight on the goalie list and teammate Eric Staal also placed eight on the list of centers. Interesting that Jaromir Jagr is included but Jeff Skinner and Tuomo Ruutu are not in the top 75 forwards worth watching this coming season.

Chris Durno signs one-year deal. Durno will earn $105,000 at the AHL level and $525,000 if he plays in the NHL, with a $140,000 minimum guarantee.
The Carolina Hurricanes brought back two more depth players as they agreed to terms with forward Brett Sutter and defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti.
Sutter's deal is for one year and will pay him $525,000 at the NHL level and $75,000 at the AHL, with a $105,000 guaranteed minimum.
Sanguinetti also re-upped for a single year and will be paid $600,000 at the NHL level and $62,500 at the AHL.

Brett Sutter pleads guilty to disorderly conduct for punching cabbie
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Former Calgary Flames centre Brett Sutter has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct for punching a cab driver outside a Scottsdale bar last year.
The 24-year-old Sutter entered his plea Monday. He is due back in Scottsdale City Court on Sept. 15 for a restitution hearing.
Scottsdale police say Sutter was arrested outside the American Junkie bar about 2 a.m. on Nov. 11. The Flames were in Arizona to play the Phoenix Coyotes in Glendale.
Witnesses told police the cab driver didn't do or say anything to provoke Sutter as he walked by. Police say the cab driver sustained a bloody lip, and Sutter appeared to be intoxicated.
Sutter was briefly jailed and the Flames traded him a week later to the Carolina Hurricanes. He is on currently on the roster of the Hurricanes' American Hockey League affiliate in Charlotte.

(hozzáteszem: én abszolút elégedett voltam, mikor #53 az első sorban ficánkolt...)
Nem teljesen lehetetlen az ügy, csak az a gond, hogy igazából két millát költhetünk még, az meg ugye pont Sutter lesz kábé.
A cserébe bedobnánk Boychukot , esetleg Bowmant, netán valaki mást is, Dalpet aligha, mert ő megy fel a top9-be.
De ezek persze csak fikciók, nem fogunk költeni már a nyáron, megvárjuk, mennyire leszünk szarok egy-két hónap után, aztán annak
fényében gondolkozik el a vezetőség.

Még mindig nem egészen fogadtam el az éjszakai seftet, elvégre a kedvenc védőm távozott, gyakorlatilag a semmiért.
Ez a része mindenképpen szívás és nem valószínű, hogy megbocsátom a vezetőségnek.
Jött Kaberle 3-4. védőnek, aki nem rossz persze, de nyilván nem ér annyit, amennyit keres.
Viszont esetünkben úgy olvasom, hogy szinte a legfontosabb volt a fizuja, hogy elérjük a padlót
és így nem kell plusz fiatalokkal kevernünk.
Rohadjon meg, ez szar egy érv. Remélem nem tol a csóka még egy ilyen gyönge szezont.
Hát belenyúltak rendesen a keretbe a nyáron és eddig nem is volt komoly hiba, elég lett volna
még egy top6 támadó szerintem, de ez sikerült. Elöl mindenképpen kevesek leszünk.
És hátul is sok lesz a kapott gól változatlanul, azt hiszem.
Persze van itt potenciál bőven, de így látatlanban ez kevéske. Eddig...
